Internship Log Book

This week I continued working on reels for Macy and Tailor. I am enjoying the process in After Effects. It has been interesting to learn the differences between AE and Premiere Pro, especially when it comes to sound design. I see the advantages of working with graphics in After Effects, however I much prefer the process for sound in Premiere.

I am beginning to see improvements in my speed now that I am getting used to these programs and the general process of creating content for The Social CliQ’s clients. First, I review the content brief and come up with a creative direction in conjunction with the goals outlined in the Account Manager’s notes. I need to keep in mind which product they want to be represented in the post, and whether the idea has been done before (be familiar with the clients published Instagram posts).

Next step is to source all the graphics I need, usually from Canva or Adobe Express as they have a large, free to use library for premium users. Then I may create a guide in Photoshop to help position elements before importing it all into After Effects to create the animation. Sound comes last, which is usually a sound effect or two from Artlist, and a short snippet of music. Sometimes we will use trending music on Instagram for the reel. This is preferable as it may connect to the audience more.
