This week I finally finished a full month’s content plan for Macy and Tailor. It usually takes my supervisor one day to complete, which is shocking. I believe Rubi is the fastest worker on the creative team. I suppose that’s what comes with practise though.
Knowing I was interested in video editing, Rubi got me to try my hand and creating a filmed reel for one of their client’s Tapt, a tech start up. Although I’ve had video editing experience, I haven’t had much, if any, experience filming professional shots. I had to think about how the end result was going to look and how I needed to position the camera (which was just my iPhone) to frame the shot and direct the movement. It was a lot I needed to learn all at once and I felt a little out of my depth. There was a lot of trial and error, but the final video came out good and was approved by the client.
I want to get more experience behind the camera, especially directing people as I didn’t feel confident telling people what to do.
