I spent most of my hours this week working on Macy and Tailor content for their October posts. I found my process getting faster. However, I began to feel bored of the work as it became less of a challenge. I have asked to do more video editing jobs and my supervisor has said I may be able to do a “trial” reel for another client once I finished with the content plan for Macy. This other client is a swimwear brand and heavily video/photography based. They are quite strict with the type of content they want on their socials, which is why my supervisor is hesitant to give me any of their work to do.
One of the other designers in the team, Lauren, showed me her process for filming and editing short videos for her clients on Thursday. She uses a mix of the phone’s native camera app, Instagram creation tools, and TikTok editing. What she uses depends on the video she’s creating at the time, as both Instagram and TikTok editing tools have their advantages and disadvantages. After the tutorial, Lauren got me to fix the colour of the video in Premiere Pro.
Here’s a fun animation I did at the end of the week, using pictures I took on my phone to create the stop motion effect of the packet squishing down.
