This week the creative team conducted two tutorials/lectures for us interns. The first was about how the Creative Strategist, Lauren, does photoshoots for their clients. We learned how she develops a proposal, and how each client will have different styles depending on their product and needs. Then she took us through the next steps, from securing photographers, videographers and models if needed; how to find a location that’s suitable for the style; preparing a call sheet and shot list with detail of every shot they need; preparing a list of props to take to the location on the day; finally, how she conducts the photoshoot on the day and how many hours each part could take.
I learned a lot from Lauren and it has me very interested in attending one of these photoshoots during my time at The Social CliQ. Usually, they only do around four a year as this kind of thing is usually outside of their general client’s budget.
The second tutorial was from my supervisor Rubi on Design Thinking. It was content I have learned before in UI/UX courses and Emerging Digital Cultures, but it was interesting seeing how she uses these methods in digital marketing. Something important she told was to always keep the client’s audience in mind when designing content, which may be different depending on the platform or goals that the piece of content may have. For example, a social media ad could be targeting a slightly different audience compared to an organic post targeting the client’s existing audience.
In terms of the work I did this week, I completed Macy and Tailor’s October content plan in full. Rubi then had me look at Dog Rocks and their October content plan to get ready to start on it next week.
